| The Greater Licking County Convention and Visitors Bureau received 2 first place marketing awards in 2008. The first award was from the Ohio Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau\'s and is called MIDDY Award. The word MIDDY reflects our region of the country as well as the states contiguous to Ohio. Participants are recognized for excellence in planning, creativity, effectiveness of message, concept and design. The CVB received first place for print communication and specialty advertising. The second award for first place was from The Ohio Travel Association called a RUBY Award. The term RUBY stands for recognizing uncommon brilliance in the travel and tourism industry. The Ruby award is the Ohio Travel Association\'s way of honoring those who have found the most innovative ways to market their destination or services. In 2008 The Greater Licking County CVB took home 1st place in the state of Ohio for their print brochure. These awards are remarkable achievements considering the tough competition of other CVB\'s and destinations in Ohio. |
